Besides culinary, Cirebon is also known for batik. So when I was there, I bought some batik. I'm planning to sew it myself. Let's see how it turn out :)
Amira has a new habit now. She likes to collect everything she sees and don't want to share it. Just like this tooth brush head. She wants to hold it all together even though she has a little hands. Or like when she would like to hold 3 toys in her 2 hands. She will start screaming when we took one of her toys or things she plays with :)
Today I cook something difference. It's a modification from one of my favourite recipe called chicken black pepper.
Last few days I stayed at home since I just recovery from fever. So I have dinner date with my husband at Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang. It almost turn out into candlelight dinner because when we ordering the food, the power just shut down. Thanks God it just only for a while. When we are eating the power back on again.
Another picture from Cirebon. This is a mosque near Keraton Kasepuhan called Mesjid Agung Sang Cipta Rasa. This more than 500 years old mosque have 9 doors to get inside it.
Kaysan make a promise to his mother that he will work on all his lego collections because he want a pack of lego that bought by his mother as a gift. So...after one and half day, he able to finish up and here are some of them.
Since I'm still sick today and cannot taking pictures, so here I share some more of Cirebon. This is one of things they use to put air freshener back in the old time. The branches used to put strands of Jasmine as the air freshener. They really use fresh flowers from the Jasmine trees instead of smelly jelly thing :)
Today we have two gathering. One is with Wira's family in Cimande and the other one is with my mom's family. Since it's impossible to come to two event so we go to Cimande and other reason is no one in Belma can drive the car beside Wira.
Today's traffic really friendly. We leave JB around 6.15 am and reach Belma around 6.45 am. It took a while since we have to turn around a little bit since some part of the road used for Eid ul-Adha prayer. We leave around 7 am and reach Cimande by 8 am. This is the best record since a long time ago. Because usually it takes 2 hours or more to reach Cimande from Belma. Even on heavy traffic it could reach 4-6 hours. It's about the same on the way back home. The road is pretty empty. I think everybody stay at home and enjoy the meat they got and make satay or tongseng or anything else. To bad I am not felling well this pass two days. The fever is back since yesterday afternoon. Today some of moslem in the world celebrate Eid ul-Adha. As usual there is also Eid pray. But the sadness come cross my heart to see all the newspaper used as lining for the praying mat just left behind by the user. So the praying area look dirty with scattered newspaper. It will be nice if everybody pick up on paper and put it in trash bin or a place designated to collect the paper. So it will be easier to clean up. When we do Eid pray in my housing area we always ask people to pick up their paper and put it in plastic bag that we prepared from home. Check out in here for info how we do it.
Some left over from Cirebon. On second day in Cirebon, we ate Empal Gentong Krucuk. The place is not far from our hotel. This is how they prepared our food. Empal Gentong is one of typical Cirebon culinary. So...if you go to Cirebon, go find this food.
This little girl turn 11th months old today. So I spare my time to taking pictures since the last two month we didn't make a proper pictures. She's able to stand up and learning to walk. She did walk one or few steps and the she fall down. Come running soon baby so you can accompany your dad for a run :)
I have been sick this two days. Got fever up to 39 degree Celsius. I think all I need is some fresh air and a good massage from my husband :)
Today Uni Shanty, Mas Adi, Kaysan and I went to Cirebon. We're going to attend my cousin's wedding on Sunday. Wira will be join us at night since he still has an event in Bandung until this afternoon. We went to a museum in Linggajati, eat local culinary, and batik shopping. There is one batik shop that look very pretty with the old building. Love the atmosphere.
I finally able to get back to my project. This last two days I was able to finish two rows. I still have six more rows to work on and finishing the edge. I can't wait to see it finished.
Finding out your watch is dead just so annoying, especially when you needed. That happened to me last Sunday. My watch just dead on 12.40 a.m. In the afternoon I went to the watch shop and had the batteries change and straps repaired. This shop has always been there since I can remember. This man working on small things and very detailed. It only cost me Rp50.000 for 2 batteries and strap repair.
I would love to share something unique from yesterday's wedding reception. The decoration is a pair of dove, each put in a cage. I've seen bird cage as decoration before but never found with the live bird inside. The bird sit nicely in the cage even though there is a lot of noise. Well...I guess this doves trained to behave during a party :)
Today is my best friend's wedding. I'm so happy for her. Hope her new family blessed by Allah and granted sakinah, mawaddah, warahmah's family.
