Today we go to Pasar Jatinegara to buy a bicycle for Millie. It's a birthday gift from her grandparents. She already mentioned to Wira before about what kind of bicycle she would like to buy. She would like a bike like mine, a city bike. So we go there after we find out there's a few bike shop that open. Her choice is the orange bike with grey accent that has front basket. This is the only bike left in each store we go. At the first store there is only one left but it has a defect on the paint. Fortunately the only bike at the second store is in better condition. The paint is still good, only a bit dusty. So she decided to take that.
She is really enjoy riding her bike. In the afternoon, she plays with neighbour and pretend as if she went shopping with her bike. I find plenty of flowers and leaves in the basket :)

A yesterday candid picture that I love. This two baby and a mother with chatting pose looks really natural. This is an undirected photo. This is Amira and my neighbour.
Ternyata setelah dilihat-lihat, foto kali ini sangat penuh warna :) Today is Eid ul-Fitr 1435 H. In the morning, my family and I go to tennis court where the Eid ul-Fitr pray is held. We are blessed with beautiful day after raining almost all night yesterday. Its time to gather with family, eat nice food and forgiving.
Yesterday I had a change to get some left over fabrics. I'm going to make another dress for another niece, Olive. There's a pattern that I would like to try. Similar to second dress I made the other day only smaller. Let's hope it will fit Olive well.
Panic is when you realise you only have enough yarn for half project and it's almost Eid ul-Fitr. But I'm happy when I call the store this morning that they still open today. So first thing when we go out today is Micky Mocko in Tebet to buy the yarn. I bought six rolls of off white cotton yarn to finished up my project.
Pak Sumam, 73 y.o. man, is a mobile vendor for homemade ice cream. He sell his ice cream Rp1000 for 1 cone/cup. He made the ice cream the day before he sell it. He is one of our favourite mobile vendor. He is walking everyday from his house about 2-3 km from my house to Kaysan ex-school about 1.5 km from my my house. Plus he sell it around my housing area. He lives alone in this world. He's wife died a few years ago and he didn't have any children. He once told us that from selling ice cream he can build a house back home where he came from.
Almost every time Taman Baca Garasi had an event, we invite him to serve his ice cream to the kids. Of course we are the one that pay him. Even on my younger sister wedding, we invite him to fill the ice cream booth. He's the one serving the ice cream to guest. The ice cream booth are the most visited booth on that day :) Last month, we were looking for him because Taman Baca Garasi had an event, but it's been a while since we heard him passes by. We hadn't heard his cart's bell until yesterday. We found out he already move to place that closer to the school and it's been a while since he come around to the housing area. But since the school is out for Eid ul-Fitr, he sell in the housing today. We also get his mobile phone number just in case we are thinking about ordering the ice cream. I guess sewing is addicting. After I finished one dress for Amira, I am curious with another pattern that I already had. But the pattern I had only for small baby. So I start to search the web and found out how to make a peasant dress pattern for a baby yesterday. And today I'm trying to make one. And it turn out so cute. It also took me 3 hours to make this dress. And tonight I'll look for another pattern :D
My sister asked me a few days ago to made a dress for Amira for Eid ul-Fitr. She already bought the fabrics. So today I produce my very first baby dress. The simplest dress pattern I got. After reading plenty of blogs, I'm ready to make one. It took me about 3 hours to figure out the pattern, cutting and sewing. Not so bad for an autodidact like me :)
I wonder if I throw the excess threads outside, will the birds pick it up and make a colourful nest?
Until midnight I able to joined 53 circles and 347 more to go... Back to my project. I finished up 400 circles for my granny square afghan. Now it's time to join all the circles. This is how my afghan will look like. Can't wait to finish it.
This is my 200th post. Wow...it's 200 already.
Today I'm trying to make kaasstengel. This is my first attempt. I got the recipe from my sister-in-law. But I think I got the wrong recipe because it don't turn out just like the one I thought. The problem is resolve after a discussion. Some other time I need to try another batch until success :) Making cookies by your own is really something :) Today Taman Baca GARASI is having bazaar for textbook from primary to high school. We receive so many text book donation and it start to pile up. So we decided to sell some of the books. We sell each book not more than Rp2000. The problem is each year, the school using different textbook for the same class. I remember back then, I can use my sisters' book and even my little sister still can use that book. I also remember how my school in USA lend textbook to students with guarantee fee. So if we loose or ruin the book, the money taken by the school. Maybe our government need to think more about this problem. After all, they the one who makes the rules.
I was mention in one of my post that I love to take pictures of sunrise or sunset. This picture taken from my hotel room in Bandung last Monday. It was stunning even though I missed the sunset. You can see city lights, mountain far far away on the background and the colour so pretty. Subhanallah was came out of my mouth when I see this.
Holiday is almost over. While waiting for Wira's meeting finished, I browse the store across the street. I buy some stuffs there. On the way home, we stop at Kartika Sari to buy snacks.
Well...traffic jam is not typical with Jakarta only, Bandung also get traffic jam :( Picture above taken yesterday afternoon during rush hour. Today I spent the afternoon walking in Bandung. From hotel I walk to Aceh Street. I'm planning to search something for my craft at Tobucil. It took me around 30 minutes walking. Well...I'm not walking to fast and try to enjoy walking in the afternoon. It's been a while since my long walk. Last time was in January when I was in Bogor and in Bandung. I got back to hotel in time for iftar and had dinner at hotel.
Since Wira's boss asked us to go out with him and other people to eat out, so we are walking to Progo Street to have some dessert. After choosing a few places, we ended up at Rocca, an Italian restaurant. We are walking back to the hotel. And tonight I finished up my 5 km walk :) Not to bad :D We are going to Bandung... yeah... holiday.... Even though everyday is a holiday for me :) We supposed to leave Jakarta at noon but since Wira doesn't feeling well since Friday, we leave house in the afternoon. I packed a picnic basket with food and drinks for iftar just in case we still on the way. It took us exactly two hours to get to Bandung. We arrived at 6 p.m. and check-in at the hotel. For dinner we are having Sop Buntut Dahapati (oxtail clear soup). It's yummy and a lot. Back to the hotel with full stomach :)
Today we greeted by the rain when we're going out. Wira had something to take care at work before we go to Bandung tomorrow. I also get some stuffs to make kaasstengel. Thanks God there's no significant traffic jam when we are out.
I always eager to try something new. Sometimes during Ramadhan, I love to eat this things. It called biji salak. This is the first time I try to make it. Still need some modification or a new recipe that suit my taste.
