Udah lama pengen posting cerita ini. Tapi belum nemu waktu buat baca-baca referensinya. Well... mari coba ditulis deh.
Akhir tahun 2011, saya sempat tinggal di Berlin lagi. Saya tinggal bersama keluarga seorang teman. Tempat itu ternyata adalah Commemoration of the Deportations to Theresienstadt.

One day I visited Ku'damm and I saw plenty of Buddy Bär, but I don't have time to take pictures. So I went back the next day, but I couldn't find it. After I find out the info, the Buddy Bär is going to United Buddy Bears in Malaysia and the day I saw it was the last day in Berlin. I was sad that I can't be able to take pictures of it because I can't add pictures to my Buddy Bär project.
Well... I just spent the day walking from one end to the other end and just capturing anything that I can find and interesting for me. Just check out the pictures by clicking "read more' if you want to. One fine Sunday in Berlin back in 2010... Wira and me decided to go out and we were strolling the road near our apartement. We walk down the Kissingenstrasse until Prenzlauer Promenade and took tram to down town. We spent day visiting places such as Potsdamer Platz, and walking to Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Taking pictures in both of the the places before we walk down to Brandenburger Tor and strolling along the Unter den Linden. Enjoying the lights on the trees before we decided to go home... Plenty of pictures and plenty of walking...

This is the last month for us to stay in Berlin. We are not sure when we will be able going back to this lovely city.
This month I was doing two projects. The first one is collecting Buddy Bär's pictures as many as I can. The second project is collecting pictures of flowers. That means I had to go out as much as I can. After searching some information about Buddy Bär and try to remember where I had seen those bears, we are walking around the city. And for the second project, I just start taking pictures when I see flowers, everywhere. Alhamdulillah we got some money to buy a new camera. So...start taking with both DSLR & hipstamatic. In this month we got a visit from Wira's friends. She used to be a housemate in Padang. So, we go around the city again :) This month we also had a chance to go to Große Stern, Russian Memorial, Charlottenburger Tor. It seems we still had so many places to go in Berlin. Need some more time :( Hope we can back to Berlin soon... Amien... This month we also went to Hamburg twice... Still working on the pictures... There's always a way to learn something. It's include anatomy. Especially when you are studying to became a doctor.
Last week I had a chance to see "Gunther von hagens' Körperwelten das Original: Eine Herzenssache". It's a body worlds exhibiton by Plastinator Dr. Gunther von Hagens and curator Dr. Angelina Whalley at the Postbahnhof. The tickets price are 17 € for adults, 13 € for children (7-18 years old) and 15 € for Students (<30 years old) & Concessions. I went there with my husband and his colleagues. Featuring unique collection of over 200 authentic human specimens including whole-body plastinates, organs and translucent body slices, this exhibition highlights cardiology and the heart. The exhibition was great. The whole-body plastinates show us real good muscles, nerves, blood vessels and also bones. You will see clearly which one deltoids, biceps, triceps and others muscles. I wish I could learn the anatomy from this kind of cadaver, so I don't have to guess which one which :). The organs and translucent body slices were great too. It will be nice to learn pathophysiology with this specimens. They put the whole-body plastinates in some position such as playing basketball, dancing, painting and lots of other. With this we can see which muscles are working when we are in that kind of position. There are whole-body plastinates for a man riding a horse and a bike. They even plastinates the horse. They also have others animals such as giraffe that climb coconut tree, chicken, bird and others. The whole show was great. I think it will good to have this kind of stuff to learn in medical school. There's one show like this held in Jakarta. But I didn't have a chance to see it. We even buy the catalogue that contain lots of their collection's pictures because we can't took picture. Look like my Sobotta Atlas of Human Anatomy :). It cost 19 € but worth it. "Through the plastinate we recognize ourselves, our vulnerability and the miracle that we are. This physical self-recognition sparks a new health-concious lifestyle which moves our hearts." - Dr. Gunther von Hagens You can see in here for more information about this show.
Yippie yeay... Wira is coming back from Bergen this month.
The month start with went to Dresden. In the middle of the month we also visit Bonn again and Königswinter. In Berlin we went to Sonntags Karaoke im Mauerpark and Britzer Garten. Wira's cousin and friends came from Manchester and visit us at the end of the month. So we went around the city again and also went to Gedenkstätte Sachsenhausen. Upss...almost forget about us visit Unterwelten Berlin. It's a trip to visit some bunkers in Berlin. There's a community that preserved some bunker to be a museum. It's an interesting thing to see. How they create big bunkers during war and also create a Rohrpost (tube post). Some places used this kind of technology such as in hospital to send blood sample to laboratorium. They used Rohrpost to send confidential mail. But in this place we can not take a pictures. A lot of traveling this month... And also a party. We had grilled party with Wira's friends in Marco's apartment. He got a nice and big apartment. The foods also great.
Lagu 'My Way' yang dinyanyikan dalam berbagai versi bahasa.
Spring is coming...flowers everywhere...it's time to go to the park...
So...at one lovely day, we're going to Britzer Garten. A big garden (around 90 hectare) in Berlin and also a very nice garden. This garden located in the Sangerhauser Weg 1, Berlin. To get there we have to take U-Bahn to Alt-Mariendorf (U6) and then continue with bus (179) and off in Sangerhauser haltestelle. From there you have to walk about 900 m to reach Britzer Garten. With nice pedestrian and summer house in your right and left, walking that far feels OK. When you reach the garden, you'll find out a ticket box. It cost you 2 € (for adult) for all day long ticket or you can even buy annual ticket if you really like going there more often. The garden open everyday but operating hour depend on the season. Because I came on early April, the roses haven't grow yet. But some tulips are starting to bloom. You can find other flowers blooming so pretty. Walking around the garden takes more than 2 hours. There's some interesting part of the garden that I like such as the lake and the bridge, the kalenderplatz, and also the playground. It really nice to bring your family here. You can found in here more about Britzer Garten. It's in Deutsch but you can use google translate to find out what it's all about. Note: pictures of me taken by Wira. I didn't go out much this 2 months. Because I didn't really like walk alone. I was still going to language course in February but not in March.
I spent time more at home and try to work with my blog. It's been a while since I really do something on it instead just upload pictures. I also spent a lot of time watching some TV series and movies. Just enjoying another life :) I went to visit Wira in Bergen at mid February. We also went to visit a friend in Stavanger. I also went to celebrate the Earth Hour 2011 in Brandenburger Tor. They turned off the light in the Brandenburger Tor but too bad other building around it didn't participate in this ceremonial. So you can saw a dark Brandenburger Tor with some burning candle that said "ENERGIE-WENDE JETZT!" and you can also saw the Hotel Adlon & other building with all the light on. Because we lost our passport, so we get back to Berlin earlier. We had some more days to go sightseeing around Berlin before I have to go back to my language course and Wira to his course in Charité.
This month we went to Altstadt Spandau and Schloss Sansouci in Potsdam. Besides that, we also walking around and try bus number 100 from Zoologische Garten to Alexanderplatz. It was nice ride, quite the same with the city tour bus. It can be an alternative if you want to go alone. We can also hop on hop off if want to see something. We visit Schloss Charlottenburg, Berliner Kunstmarkt, Rote Rathaus, Rathaus Pankow and walking around the city as usual. In Berliner Kunstmarkt you can find any kind of things such as painting, old recording, photos, handmade stuffs and other. It was fun to be able see this place. If I'm going to stay in Berlin for some more to time, I'm thinking to buy a painting of a cow in field. It was beautiful painting. Love it... I love walking around in this city but not alone :) Gagal pergi ke Swiss, tidak mematahkan semangat kami untuk tetap jalan-jalan :).
:) This is all pictures I took in December 2010. The winter is coming. Love to see everything covered with snow. Even I found the beauty of winter. But still couldn't stand the cold. My feet even get really hurt when we walking around in -15 degree C. We also had a couple of party with Wira's friends to celebrate the end of core course.
We visit a Weihnachtmarkt in Neukölln. We went there with some friends. And I meet again with Vika. She's a girl from Moscow. We've been friend since 1993. It's was nice to see an old face in Berlin :) Actually this is the second time I met her. The first time I met her was in Jakarta around 2007 (I guess, kinda forget :p) This month we also had a trip to Hamburg, Amsterdam, Belgium and Bonn. Don't forget to read the story and see the pictures of our trip. I took all the pictures in this album with my iPhone. I'm using Hipstamatic application. Some picture might not really clear and nice but there's always something to enjoyed. That's the way this application work. I was trying a few combination of lens and film. This is all pictures I took in November 2010. No special occasion, sometimes we just walking around the city. The weather quite cold for me especially since I just came from tropical country.
We visit a Weihnachtmarkt in Alexanderplatz. It was amazing how they create all the rides just in one night. They also sell lots of candies, foods and gluhwein. It seems everybody are there because there so many people at one time. Thinking about going with one of those rides? No way...I will freeze my butt :) Still amazed with all the people that try the ride. I start taking my Deustchkurs this month. And at the end of the month our class had breakfast at Anna Blume (Prenzlauerberg) and then we went to the museum in Mitte. I took all the pictures in this album with my iPhone. I'm using Hipstamatic application. Some picture might not really clear and nice but there's always something to enjoyed. That's the way this application work. I was trying a few combination of lens and film. I'm planning to go to Berlin anytime soon... (still hope and pray that I can get the visa soon)
While waiting for the visa, I think it's time to see places I want to visit while in Berlin. I write this based on www.lonely planet.com. So...here's some of it... 1. Get high at the TV Tower The TV Tower is the tallest structure in Germany, soaring 368m above Berlin since 1969. Come early to beat the queue for the lift ride to the panorama level at 203m, where views are unbeatable on clear days. From here and the upstairs café, which makes one revolution in 30 minutes, you can easily pinpoint landmarks and study the city layout. Address: Panoramastrasse 1a, Alexanderplatz Area Transport: train: Alexanderplatz Ticket: full €8, child €4 Open: Mar-Oct 09:00-00:00, Nov-Feb 10:00-00:00 |
